BUDWEISER CLYDESDALES in ANHEUSER-BUSCH BREWERY

March 23, 2016

FUN FACT:

The Budweiser Clydesdales made their first-ever appearance on April 7, 1933. A gift from August A. Busch, Jr. and Adolphus Busch to their father in celebration of the repeal of Prohibition, the presentation of the original two six-horse hitches of champion Clydesdales moved father, sons and drivers to tears. The phrase “crying in your beer” was officially coined shortly thereafter.
This is how they get ready for work. Their "work clothes" are custom-made to fit in each and everyone of them.
This antique wagon dates all the way back to 1903. That's a 113 years old!!! Needless to say, it takes a lot of maintenance to keep it looking at it's best. It's dusted and wiped down to it's undercarriage to make sure no dirt accumulates. It's oiled regularly, and finally given a full wax and paint touch up for that blinding shine.
A CLYDESDALE’S BEST FRIEND

In 1950, the Budweiser Clydesdales received their very own mascot: the Dalmatian. Traditionally used to guide horse-drawn fire carts, this spotted dog serves as friend and companion to the team, sitting aside the driver. To see if they are visiting near you, check out the hitch schedule.
